Schedule Social Media Posts with Mistral Le Chat (2026 Guide)
You can schedule social media posts from Mistral's Le Chat by adding PostAxis as a custom MCP connector: Le Chat writes the posts, in as many languages as you need, and PostAxis checks each network's rules and schedules them to your accounts. Setup takes about a minute and uses OAuth, so there is no API key. This guide is for teams that post to more than one language audience, and for anyone who prefers Mistral's assistant for their writing.
What you can automate with Le Chat
Le Chat writes well in many languages, which changes what is worth automating. Instead of writing a post and then a translation, you describe the update once and let Le Chat produce each language version, sized for each network:
- One update, two languages. English on LinkedIn, French on X, both at the same time.
- Market-by-market calendars. A week of posts where each account gets copy in its own language.
- Translating what already works. Take a post that did well in one language and schedule an adapted version for another audience.
- A quick all-clear. Post a short status update to your Telegram channel and Facebook page right now.
- Checking the schedule. "What do I have scheduled this week?" in plain language, in whatever language you ask.
What you need
- A PostAxis account. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial and includes MCP access with OAuth sign-in.
- Your social accounts connected under Accounts in PostAxis. If you run separate accounts per language (for example a French and an English LinkedIn page), connect all of them.
- A Le Chat plan that includes custom MCP connectors. In an organisation, an admin may need to enable them.
- No API key and nothing to install.
How to connect Le Chat to PostAxis (step by step)
- Create your PostAxis account at app.postaxis.io.
- Connect your social accounts. Open Accounts in PostAxis and connect the networks you post to: Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads or Telegram. Le Chat can only post to accounts connected here, and it never sees their passwords.
- Open Connectors. In Le Chat, open the side menu → Intelligence → Connectors and click Add connector. Le Chat's menus can change between releases, so if the path differs, look for Connectors in the side menu.
- Add a custom MCP connector. Choose Custom MCP connector, name it PostAxis and paste the URL. Le Chat detects that PostAxis uses OAuth.
https://postaxis.io/api/mcp
- Sign in and approve. Click Connect, sign in to PostAxis on the page that opens and click Approve.
- Use it in a chat. In a new chat, open the tools menu and enable PostAxis.
- Check it works. Ask:
Which accounts can you post to? Group them by network.
Le Chat calls list_accounts and lists your connected accounts. If it does, you are set.
4 workflows you can copy
Announce one update in two languages
The most common reason to use Le Chat for social media. Write the facts once in whichever language is easiest for you.
We now support invoices in euros and pounds, not just dollars. Available
today on all plans, under Settings → Billing.
Write this announcement in English for LinkedIn (two short paragraphs,
professional, no hashtags) and in French for X (one sentence, under 250
characters, natural French, not a literal translation). Schedule both
for tomorrow at 9:00 Europe/Paris. Show me both texts first.
Le Chat calls list_accounts, writes both versions and shows them to you. After your OK, it calls get_platform_rules and then create_post with a separate caption per account, so the LinkedIn account gets English and the X account gets French in one scheduled post. You get something like: "Scheduled for tomorrow 9:00 (Europe/Paris): English on LinkedIn, French on X (231 characters)."
Plan a week for several language markets
For teams with an account per country. Each account gets copy in its own language, published at a sensible local time.
Next week we're running a "spring cleaning" theme: one tip a day,
Monday to Friday, on how to organise a social media calendar.
- LinkedIn (English page): 10:00 Europe/London
- Telegram channel (German): 10:00 Europe/Berlin
- Threads (Spanish account): 10:00 Europe/Madrid
Same tip each day, written natively in each language, not translated
word for word. Threads under 450 characters. Validate the whole week
first and show me a table with day, network and the first line of
each post.
Le Chat drafts fifteen captions and calls create_posts_bulk with validate_only=true. PostAxis checks every caption and saves nothing. Because the times differ per market, Le Chat creates separate posts per account and day rather than one post per day. Once you approve the table, it repeats the call without validate_only. Bulk calls take up to 50 posts, so a multi-market week fits in one.
Adapt a post that worked for a new audience
When an English post did well and you want your French audience to see the same idea, not a stiff translation.
This LinkedIn post did well last month (pasted below). Adapt it for a
French audience: keep the idea, change the example to something that
fits a French small business, and keep it under 1,200 characters. Post
it to X and Threads tomorrow at 12:30 Europe/Paris, with a short
version for X.
[paste post]
Le Chat writes the adapted LinkedIn-length version, then a short X version within 280 characters and a Threads version within 500, and schedules them with create_post. PostAxis rejects any version that breaks a network's limit before saving, so Le Chat shortens and retries if needed.
Post an all-clear right now
For incidents, when speed matters more than polish. Keep it short and factual.
The outage is fixed. Post a short all-clear to our Telegram channel and
Facebook page now, in English and French in the same message. Two
sentences per language. Confirm when both are up.
Le Chat calls create_post to publish immediately (publishing now is always a single post, not a bulk call), then get_post to check the status on each network. Le Chat asks before running tools that publish, so you get a last look before it goes out.
Network limits Le Chat works within
Translations are rarely the same length as the original; French and German often run longer than English. That makes these limits more relevant than usual.
| Network | Caption limit | Media rules |
|---|---|---|
| X (Twitter) | 280 | Optional; up to 4 images or a video |
| Threads | 500 | Optional; up to 10 images or a video |
| 3,000 | Optional; up to 9 images or a video | |
| Telegram | 4,096 (1,024 with media) | Optional; up to 10 images or a video |
| 63,206 | Pages only; up to 10 images or a video |
PostAxis checks every caption against the network's rules before saving. If the French version of your X post comes out at 300 characters, PostAxis rejects it with an error, Le Chat shortens it and tries again, and nothing broken reaches your calendar.
Tips for better posts
- Ask for native writing, not translation. "Written natively in French" or "adapt for a German audience" gives you more natural copy than "translate this".
- Put your voice and glossary in your instructions. Product names, terms you never translate and the formal or informal form of "you" for each language belong in Le Chat's custom instructions or saved preferences, so you do not repeat them in every chat.
- Validate first. For anything with more than a couple of posts, say "validate first and show me the list". PostAxis checks everything and saves nothing until you approve.
- Give a timezone per market. "10:00 Europe/Berlin" for the German channel, "10:00 Europe/London" for the English page. Without timezones, Le Chat uses whatever it was told or UTC.
- Keep a native speaker in the loop. For important posts, ask Le Chat to save the second-language versions as drafts. They appear under Drafts in PostAxis for a colleague to check.
- Name the account, not just the network, when you have one per language: "the French LinkedIn page" avoids the English page getting French copy.
Troubleshooting
- I don't see custom connectors. Custom MCP connectors depend on your Le Chat plan. In an organisation, an admin may need to enable them.
- Le Chat says no accounts are connected. Connect at least one account under Accounts in PostAxis. With several workspaces, tell it which: "use my Acme workspace".
- 401 Unauthorized or "sign in again". The sign-in expired or was revoked. Reconnect PostAxis from Le Chat's Connectors page; it opens the sign-in again.
- A post was rejected before saving. The error names the rule, usually caption length for a longer translation. Ask Le Chat to shorten that version and retry.
- Posts are scheduled at the wrong time. Add the timezone for each market and ask Le Chat to fix the affected posts with
update_post.
FAQ
Can Mistral Le Chat post to social media?
Yes. With PostAxis added as a custom MCP connector, Le Chat can draft, schedule and publish posts to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, X, LinkedIn, Facebook Pages, Threads and Telegram channels. PostAxis does the publishing at the scheduled time.
Which Le Chat plans support custom connectors?
Custom MCP connectors are part of Le Chat's connector feature. Availability depends on your plan and, for teams, on your admin settings. PostAxis works on every PostAxis plan, including the 7-day free trial.
Can Le Chat write a different language for each account?
Yes. One post can target several accounts with a different caption per account, so your English page and your French page can get their own versions in the same scheduled post. Media is shared by the whole post.
Does Le Chat see my social media passwords?
No. Le Chat signs in to PostAxis with OAuth and only gets access to PostAxis. Your social accounts stay connected inside PostAxis. You can revoke Le Chat any time under Settings → API keys → Connected agents.
Can Le Chat post images or videos?
Yes, media you already have. Le Chat can pass PostAxis a public link with upload_media_from_url, or get a one-time upload link for a file on your computer with create_upload_link. PostAxis does not generate images or video.
The same setup works in other chat assistants: see the guides for ChatGPT and Claude, or the complete guide to AI agents for social media for all 24 agents. The Le Chat agent page has the one-minute version of this setup, and the MCP reference lists every tool. Start your 7-day free trial, connect your accounts in each language and ask Le Chat for your first bilingual post.
