How to Automate Social Media with Manus AI (2026 Guide)

You can make Manus finish its research tasks by scheduling real posts: add PostAxis as a custom MCP connector with an API key, and Manus gets tools to list your social accounts, check each network's rules and schedule posts to your calendar. Setup takes about three minutes.

This guide is for founders, marketers and small teams who already use Manus for research and want the output to land on LinkedIn, X, Threads or Instagram without copying and pasting.

What you can automate with Manus

Manus works through long tasks in its own cloud environment. It browses, reads and uses connected tools while you do something else. That makes it a good fit for social work that starts with research and ends with a schedule:

  • Research, then post. Read this week's industry news, pick the stories worth a comment and schedule a LinkedIn post on each.
  • A month of content in one task. Plan 30 days of posts for X, LinkedIn and Threads, show you the plan, then schedule it after you approve.
  • Launch announcements. Turn a one-line "this feature is live" note into a short X post and a fuller LinkedIn paragraph, both timed for the morning.
  • A weekly status check. See which posts published, which failed and reschedule the failures.

Because Manus runs in the cloud and PostAxis publishes scheduled posts on its own, none of this needs your laptop or browser tab to stay open.

What you need

  • A PostAxis account. Sign up at app.postaxis.io; every plan starts with a 7-day free trial.
  • At least one social account connected under Accounts in PostAxis: Instagram (professional), TikTok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, Facebook Page, Threads or a Telegram channel.
  • The PostAxis API add-on. Manus connects with an API key, and API keys need the add-on.
  • A Manus account with access to custom MCP connectors.

How to connect Manus to PostAxis (step by step)

Why an API key and not a sign-in popup? Manus often runs tasks while you are away, so a long-lived key is the most reliable way for it to reach PostAxis.

  1. Create your PostAxis account. Sign up at app.postaxis.io. MCP access is included in every plan.
  2. Connect your social accounts. Open Accounts in PostAxis and connect the networks you want Manus to post to. Manus can only post to accounts connected here, and it never sees your social media passwords.
  3. Create an API key. In PostAxis open Settings → API keys and click Create API key. Copy it right away; it is shown only once.
  4. Open Connectors in Manus. In Manus open Settings → Connectors (some versions call it Integrations), click Add connectors and choose Custom MCP. Menu names can shift between Manus releases, so look for "Custom MCP" if the path differs.
  5. Add PostAxis. Use the JSON import option and paste the block below, with YOUR_API_KEY replaced by your key. If you prefer, fill in the URL and add the Authorization header by hand.
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "postaxis": {
      "url": "https://postaxis.io/api/mcp",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" }
    }
  }
}
  1. Check it works. Start a new task and ask:
Which PostAxis accounts are connected?

Manus should list your social accounts by network and name. If it does, the connector is live.

Treat the key like a password. Don't paste it into shared documents or task prompts, and if it ever leaks, revoke it under Settings → API keys and create a new one.

4 workflows you can copy

Each prompt below is written to run as a single Manus task. Adjust the names, networks and times to your own setup.

Turn this week's industry news into three LinkedIn posts

Use this when you want a steady, opinionated LinkedIn presence but don't have time to read the news every week.

Find three news stories from this week about B2B payments. For each one,
write a LinkedIn post (150 to 250 words) with our take as a small fintech
team: plain language, one concrete takeaway, no hashtags except #fintech.
Schedule them Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 9:00 America/New_York
on our LinkedIn company page. List your sources in the task log.

What Manus does: it browses for the stories, writes the posts, calls list_accounts to find your LinkedIn page, then create_post three times with the scheduled times. You get something like: "Done. I picked three stories, wrote a post on each and scheduled them Tuesday to Thursday at 9:00. Sources are in the task log."

Plan a 30-day calendar and approve it before anything is scheduled

This is the workflow Manus is best at: a long task you can start in the morning and review at lunch.

Plan 30 days of posts for X, LinkedIn and Threads about our scheduling
app, starting next Monday. Mostly practical tips, some product updates,
a few behind-the-scenes. One post per day at 10:00 Europe/London.
Write a shorter caption for X. Validate the whole plan first and show
me a table of date, network and caption. Don't schedule until I reply
"approved".

What Manus does: list_accounts → get_platform_rules to learn the caption limits → create_posts_bulk with validate_only=true. PostAxis checks every post against each network's rules and saves nothing. Manus shows you the plan, waits, and only after your approval sends the same posts again without validate_only. One post can target several accounts with a different caption per account, so the X version can be short while LinkedIn gets the full text. Bulk calls take up to 50 posts each, so 30 days fits in one call.

Announce a launch the next morning

Short, specific and done in two minutes.

Our CSV export is live. Write one line for X and a short paragraph for
LinkedIn explaining who it helps. Both go out tomorrow at 9:00
America/Chicago. Link to https://example.com/changelog.

What Manus does: one create_post call targeting both accounts, with a per-account caption override so each network gets its own text. The post appears in your PostAxis calendar right away, where you can still edit it.

Weekly failure report and reschedule

Networks sometimes reject a post at publish time, for example when a token expires. This task catches those.

Check which posts published this week and which failed on Instagram,
TikTok and YouTube. Give me a short report with the error for each
failure. Reschedule the failed ones for tomorrow at 12:00 Asia/Singapore,
unless the error says the media itself is the problem; flag those for me.

What Manus does: list_posts filtered by date range and status, get_post on each failure to read the per-network status, then update_post to move the time. Posts it can't fix stay where they are for you to handle.

Network limits Manus works within

PostAxis checks each post against the network's rules before saving it. These are the ones that matter for the workflows above:

NetworkCaption limitMedia rules
LinkedIn3,000 charactersOptional; up to 9 images or one video
X (Twitter)280 charactersOptional; up to 4 images or one video
Threads500 charactersOptional; up to 10 images or one video
Instagram2,200 charactersRequired; professional account, 1 to 10 images or one video (Reel)
TikTok2,200 charactersRequired; photo posts take JPEG or WebP only, first 150 characters become the title
YouTube5,000 charactersExactly one video (Shorts); title up to 100 characters

Video must be MP4 or MOV, 3 to 300 seconds, with a 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:4 or 1:1 aspect ratio. One video per post, and images and video can't be mixed.

The point of checking first is simple: a too-long X caption or an Instagram post without media is rejected with a clear error before anything is saved, so Manus can fix it in the same task instead of you discovering a failed post on the day.

Tips for better posts

  • Validate first, every time. For anything bigger than a single post, put "validate first and show me the plan" in the prompt. It costs nothing and catches length and media problems early.
  • Always say the timezone. "10:00 Europe/London" rather than "10am". Without one, Manus uses whatever timezone it was told or UTC.
  • Use drafts for anything sensitive. Ask Manus to "save as drafts". They show up under Drafts in PostAxis, where you or a teammate can edit and schedule them.
  • Give it a voice brief once. Keep a short paragraph about tone, banned words and hashtag rules in your Manus custom instructions or knowledge (wherever your version stores reusable context), and refer to it in prompts.
  • Bring your own media. PostAxis doesn't create images or video. Give Manus a public link to an image you already have and it can pull it in with upload_media_from_url.
  • Know the ceiling. PostAxis accepts up to 300 posts per 24 hours per account through MCP. That's a safety net against a runaway task, not a target.

Troubleshooting

Manus says no accounts are connected. Connect at least one social account under Accounts in PostAxis. If you have several workspaces, tell Manus which one: "use my Acme workspace".

401 Unauthorized. The API key was revoked, mistyped or is missing the Bearer prefix in the header. Check it's still active under Settings → API keys, and confirm the API add-on is on your plan.

A post was rejected before saving. PostAxis checks caption length, media count, video length and format per network. The error says what to change; ask Manus to fix it and try again.

Posts are scheduled at the wrong time. Add the timezone to the prompt, for example "9:00 Europe/Berlin".

You want Manus to stop posting. Revoke its API key under Settings → API keys. It loses access immediately. Already scheduled posts stay in your calendar until you delete them.

FAQ

Can Manus AI post to social media automatically?

Yes, once PostAxis is connected as a custom MCP connector. Manus can create drafts, schedule posts or publish right away on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, X, LinkedIn, Facebook Pages, Threads and Telegram channels.

Does Manus need to stay open for posts to go out?

No. Manus runs tasks in the cloud, and PostAxis publishes scheduled posts at the set time, even after you close the tab.

Why does Manus use an API key instead of signing in?

Manus works on tasks in the cloud, often while you're away, so a long-lived API key is the most reliable connection. API keys need the PostAxis API add-on.

Can Manus schedule 30 days of posts at once?

Yes. It can send up to 50 posts in one bulk call. Ask it to validate first: PostAxis checks every post and saves nothing, so you can review the plan before it's scheduled.

Does Manus see my social media passwords?

No. Your social accounts are connected inside PostAxis. Manus only gets the PostAxis tools, scoped to the accounts you connected, and you can revoke the key at any time.

Can Manus create the images for my posts?

PostAxis doesn't generate images or video. Manus can attach media you already have, from a public URL or through a one-time upload link for a local file.
